Taiwan's unique premium oolong tea, also known as Pung Feng Tea, Bai Hao Oolong Tea, and Champagne Oolong Tea, grows in a pristine environment with multiple ideal conditions: sheltered from the wind, high temperatures, abundant sunlight, a moderate climate, and no air pollution.
This tea is cultivated without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. The tea harvesting period occurs during the hot summer months of June and July, making the harvest season very short. It takes four pounds of tea leaves to produce one pound of tea, with more than 10,000 tea buds in a pound of finished tea.
Typically, 20 workers can hand-pick 160 Taiwan pounds of regular oolong tea in a day, but for Oriental Beauty tea, only 40 Taiwan pounds can be harvested in the same time frame. The tea leaves display a bright, vibrant mix of green, white, red, yellow, and brown colors.
The brewed tea has an amber hue, with a sweet, refreshing taste. Its fragrance carries notes of ripe fruit and a light honey sweetness. Such a unique tea, with a short harvest season, low yield, and labor-intensive cultivation, is even more precious.
